The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) Circular No. 857 Series of 2014 and Circular 1048 Series of 2019, BSP Regulations on Consumer Protection, define the basic principles and ethical business practice that govern the conduct of BSP Supervised Financial Institutions (BSFIs) in dealing with their consumers. Meralco Employees Savings and Loan Association Inc. (Mesala), its Board of Trustees, Management, Officers and Staff commit to the principles, guidelines and best practices contained in the regulations and adopt financial consumer protection as a fundamental part of its corporate governance and culture.
In relation to this, MESALA acknowledges the right of members to be protected in all stages of their transactions and be given an avenue to raise their request, concerns and/or complaints in the products and services of the Association thus the creation of Consumer Assistance Management System (CAMS). Consumer protection is a core function and the Association shall comply with the minimum guidelines institutionalizing consumer assistance mechanism in the organization.
